Since the last post

  • I left Novell and started a new job, and I am so much happier, but also much busier as I find myself in the strange "new employee" funk which I've not experienced for nearly 2 decades.
  • TK received his mission call to serve in the Argentina Resistencia Mission
  • SK re-tore the ligament in his right elbow and tore a meniscus in his left knee
  • Term the first ended at the high and middle schools to some shouts of praise and other shouts of concern
  • TK went to the temple
  • Much shopping occurs pursuant to the realization that Christmas is only weeks away, and TKs departure is only 2 months away.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of posting and reading, so we'll see how quickly that happens.

I was only joking. I know how busy you are and how much work goes into getting a missionary ready. I'm sorry!

Congrats on the new job! Lee told me about it and it sounds great. Hope it's going well.

It's so fun to see how excited and proud your whole family is for TK. What an amazing time for you all! (I guess it's mission after mission for the next 8 years or so. It's hard to imagine Jake's mission in only 2 1/2 years! yikes!)

Good luck with everything and again, I'm sorry for being so sarcastic! I really ought to work on that.

~cari~ Don't even worry about it! I knew you were joking, and it proved to be a good motivator, so what's the harm?

And - as I'm the king of sarcasm, I've learned to take it as well as I can give it - so keep it comin'!

Oh congratulations! (well, except for the injury part). We're looking at six months till papers go out over here and I'm completely in denial about it.

Why wasn't I consulted about the Novell departure...now how am I suupposed to sell my Novell stock if the Kingmister isn't at the helm?

I seem to recall providing instructions/revelations about TK going to Brazil...again, why was I left out of this loop?

SK...had anyone bothered to ask my opinion, I would have recommended he take up chess [way fewer injuries in that sport].

TK...temple trip...hello, there is a temple in Omaha that would have served the same purpose.

Running out of time for shopping and mission prep...I'll give you that one; there's only so much I can do.

cw - We're still in denial and we have only 58 days until he leaves, though each day the ability to remain in denial grows less and less - it's thrilling and scary and faith-building all in the same breath.

lyle - What can I say. I saw the opportunity to switch it up and ran with it. It is a wonderful blessing to look back and see the Lord's hand guiding me to the new job - I hope without sounding too prideful, I think the Lord needed me here to help His work on a daily basis.

Brazil - there's a 30 mile common border between TK's mission and Brazil - it was the best I could do.

SK is great at Chess - and everything he does really. I really did counsel him to not wrestle this season as I had a bad feeling about the elbow - but sometimes (read nearly all the time) my kids don't listen and make their own mistakes.

Temple trip - Seriously - in Omaha? Wow. ;)

A month til Christmas - holy cow. I better get a move on.
